How Do I Write an Intro, Conclusion, & Body Paragraph?
DOES AN
ESSAY HAVE TO HAVE THREE BODY PARAGRAPH
Introduction
What would you expect when you dine in a 5
star or a 7-star hotel, a three-course meal, a five-course meal, or a seven-course
meal? Well, everyone expects a well-planned detailed menu to satisfy the
cravings and to lift the expectations. No one would like to miss if something
complementary has been offered. Getting seven-course meals at the price of five
courses can serve as a deal of the month.
Similarly, if you get the chance
to visit an old and dearest friend of yours, would not you love to greet him?
Spend your time and rejoice in old golden memories that you always cherish (this
part will share your meeting's significant chunk). It would be challenging at
the end of the session, but you had to say a very warm goodbye to your friend.
Format of
an Essay
There are countless formats of essays
available in books, the internet, and other social media platform. Overall, a
report has to have a proper and satisfactory introduction followed by a
fantastic body that carries details related to the topic, preferably divided
into paragraphs for the refined understanding of a reader and for sure a
conclusion to summarize the entire idea. This is a general format, or you may
say that these are mandatory elements of an essay.
The introduction provides a sound
and exciting base to an essay. It often presents the cause due to which writing
has been written. The body is considered the heart of an article as it depicts
the writer's mind what the writer would like to be conveyed. Without a conclusion,
the essay is as same as a present without wrapping paper. Purpose has been
served, but the last and significant stroke was missed.
Expectations from a paragraph of an essay:
The entire essay and each
paragraph of an article have to have these three basic ingredients essential to
craft an exemplary essay. The purpose of being such components mandatory is to
provide support and examples to the content. Three essential elements are:
1- A
topic sentence
2- Supporting
sentence
3- Closing
sentence
Topic
Sentence
The topic sentence is mainly
considered as the initial or first sentence restates the claim or expresses the
opinion in favor or against an essay's topic.
Supporting Sentence
The supporting sentence is written in support of the topic sentence. It is mainly written to support the claim restate or the opinion expressed in the topic sentence. Without a supporting penalty, a flow cannot maintain. Without providing a piece of evidence, a claim is more likely like a false claim.
Closing Sentence
What
starts has come to an end? The same applies to a statement, claim, or opinion.
Once reinstated and had been supported with a shred of evidence or examples.
There has to be a conclusion to give a finishing touch to your claim or idea to
sell well.
Format of an essay
When there is no rule, so there
is no claim towards a set pattern of an essay, yes, the importance of essential
element is there and mentioned above. Beginners used four paragraphs as it
gives a good margin to the strugglers in dividing the entire content into four
parts. The initial paragraph is introductory, followed by body paragraphs, and
concluded with the last section.
Essays with set patterns often
followed a three-body paragraph format, such as persuasive essay, explanatory
essay, or argumentative essay. It is advisable to present at least three pieces
of evidence, reasoning, logic, or examples.
Why
three body paragraphs?
Here below are some templates,
and all templates are showing three body paragraph formats. One of the best
supportive reasons to have a three-body paragraph is the target of collecting
or providing three pieces of evidence, logic, or examples are pretty easy for a
writer.
On the contrary, it gives ease to the reader as well. Many people are not interested in writing long essays based on the number of pages or countless paragraphs. You may say that by adding too many details, the essay's gist has been lost somewhere, or the report may not be able to grab the reader's attention.
Still, several people vouch for the five-paragraph
essay. But there is no firm rule. Five body paragraph essay eventually turns
into a seven body paragraph after including an introduction and conclusion
paragraph.
Here is a tip for beginners, before formulating the
content, a writer needs to be clear with the objective. Below pointers should
be checked.
1-
Can you identify from where a paragraph starts and ends in
the particular text?
2-
Can you explain what the paragraph is all about?
3-
Can you determine what is the most crucial pointer or reason
for writing such a paragraph?
There are some assignments in which you get some
content, and you have to arrange it in different paragraphs. The clue is when
the theme of information, speaker, or setting changes. The section needs to
change. Here below is a sample of text which is divided into different paragraphs
based on the information shared. (highlighted in different colors).
Sample:
Mammals are
hairy or furry creatures that are warm-blooded and feed their babies on milk.
Most mammals are born, but some hatch from eggs. Humans
are just one type of mammal – there are 4000 or more different species of
mammal. The human mammal group is called the Primates. Most female mammals feed their young
on their own milk, which provides important nutrients that help the babies grow
quickly and strongly. The mammal with the longest pregnancy is an elephant.
Elephants are pregnant for nearly two years with their calves, unlike human
females who are pregnant for nine months. When the elephant calf is born, it usually
weighs about 90kg (or 200lbs). Compare this to the weight of an average human
baby, which weighs about 7lbs!
Conclusion
Hence
the conclusion is that there is no set rule to have a three-body paragraph, however,
it is appreciable to have three body paragraph for the reader's and writer's
ease.
