Take baby steps to achieve big goals. Altogether, writing an essay is a huge task that causes nervousness and anxiety. The most prescribed way to write effectively is to sit, think about the topic, jot down all those pointers you would like to cover and divide into separate chunks. Keeping the four-paragraph technique in mind, an essay should be divided into four parts, including:

·         Introduction

·         Juicy Details (1)

·         Juicy Details (2)

·         Conclusion

Each paragraph in the essay requires specific details or information, keeping in mind the the flow of the topic and the reader’s attention.

INTRODUCTION

The introduction is the most substantial chunk of essay writing. This is the part where a writer has to grab the reader’s attention, and the reader decides whether he or she wants to carry on with the reading. Generally, hooks can be used to make an essay more interesting, appealing, convincing, and attractive to the reader. Several hooks are available to serve the purpose. Though the topic sentence is imperative, good writers use a variety in terms of a beginning to break the monotony. Here below are some of the most unique, tested, and tried beginning hacks as it is considered;

“Once you have a good start then you are thorough towards a good journey.”

Crack a joke to create humor in content

Begin with a question or a riddle

Show don’t tell

Onomatopoeia

Questions are considered as the key to imagery. One of the best techniques to grab the reader’s attention is to ask a question at the start as it triggers the inquisitive nature of human beings. WH questions (Why, What, Where, When, Who, How, How much?) are a great source of formulating questions.

To add creativity, riddles can be offered in place of regular questions as people like challenges.

For example:

What happens when frogs park illegally?

A happy mind is always willing to learn and grow, and what is better than to make your readers laugh and giggle at the beginning of the essay? Begin the essay with a bang of laughter or a bang with the real world of sounds (Onomatopoeia). The writer’s show don’t tell technique is completely unignorable as it contains everything that a reader wants. \

Remember that the introduction sets the tone and flow of the essay, and it serves as a trailer that what the actual content is about. At this moment, beginners have plenty of hooks in their hands, can opt for any of the suitable hooks, and begin the fantastic journey of essay writing. Sensory details are often used in the beginning, describing what you see, hear, smell, feel, touch or taste. An introduction should build a curiosity in the reader’s mind that what happens next.

Juicy Details 1 and 2:

The central content of the essay should be divided into two main paragraphs. In this section, the main events are covered. Figurative language can be used to create a more dramatic effect, and powerful verbs and adjectives can be used to add weightage to the content.

Conclusion:

Conclusion or ending paragraph is the synopsis of what the essay is all about. This serves as hence proof formula, and whatever has been mentioned in an introductory paragraph will be verified with the agreement of the writer keeping series of events in mind, or a writer will completely disagree with the statement which has been initiated at the start with the help of facts and figures.

                                                                      Second Draft

My Favorite Meal

Sizzle!!! Slurp!!! Crunch!!! Chomp!!! What comes to your mind when you heard these sounds. For me, it is my favourite meal, spaghetti and meat balls, which is the best dish in the world of food. People who love to eat are always the best. My favourite meal is Spaghetti and Spicy Meatballs because it is one of its kind.

It is time-saving, as quick as a wink, and super easy to cook. All you need to do is pour the sauce into a pan, add frozen meatballs, and boil water for the pasta. I love to add lots of Italian spices and the use of fresh crushed tomatoes to jazz up the jar sauce. The cherry on the top is parmesan cheese, and it tastes amazing with the pile of parmesan cheese on top.

Well… it is really fun as it can be enjoyed in many ways. It can be twirl around on a fork and create piles and tunnels. I always look for that golden moment when no one is watching me, and I got a chance to slurp it!

Everyone should try spaghetti with meatballs to satisfy hunger, as it is easy to cook, immense fun to eat, and delicious to have.

There is still room to add more details to the above draft. You may add your experience, a favourite place where you love to enjoy this dish, recommendations, and much more. Use a graphic organizer or four-paragraph technique to jot down the ideas on paper, whatever they are, organized them, use the hooks and hacks mentioned above, and amused the reader with your amazing skill of writing.
